Fee support for part-time students
If you are a part-time student who commenced your course in 2006/07 or later, you may be entitled to additional help towards the cost of your fees.
The Additional Fee Support Scheme (AFSS) provides extra help for those who are entitled to a full fee grant from their Local Authority/Student Finance England. You will need to send us your Student Financial Support Notification, showing your entitlement, to the address on the form below. Your Middlesex student number also needs to be clearly marked on this form. The availability of funding for this scheme is limited and once funds have been exhausted no further awards will be made - for this reason we urge students to submit applications as soon as they receive the financial notification. Once the funds have been exhausted no further support will be avialable and studnets will need to pay any outstanding fees themselves.
For further information please refer to Rough Cuts produced by the Money, Welfare and International Advice Service, and read the guidance below. This form and further information can also be obtained from your campus Student Services area and the Money and Welfare Advice office, or by calling us on 020 8411 5954.
Receiving Student Loans & Grants
Many full time students will have applied for Student Support (tuition fee loans, maintenance loans, grants, etc) from Student Finance England. Once your application has been approved the university will be asked to confirm your attendance for the current academic year. This process is automated and generally confirmation is issued on the same day that the request is received, subject to the student being enrolled. New students need to ensure that they have had their ID checked by the institution. Once confirmation has been sent the SLC will release your first instalment. Subject to the above you should expect your payment in the first week of term.
If you have had an assessment, are fully enrolled, but have not received first payment within two days of the scheduled payment date, then please contact us on 020 8411 6286.
Queries about assessment and entitlements will need to be made to:
